Club sculling is now open BUT club boats MUST be steered by a 2x or 4x toe-certified rower (the water temp is still in the 40s and the danger of hypothermia is real).
See the Cold Water rowing (link) section on Rowing Safety Guidelines,

All shells launching off the Kendal dock are required to sign out.
Even though we can’t monitor all traffic, we would like a record of who has launched and landed.

Please keep an eye on the current, wind and weather forecasts. Be safe out there.

Only club certified toes can row a club single with pontoons (no rowing without them).
It is also highly recommended that you go out with a buddy to keep each other safe.
Waist belt life jackets are available at the sculling racks in the plastic bin.

About

The Upper Valley Rowing Foundation is a community rowing club. We row on the beautiful Connecticut River, out of Kendal Riverfront Park, located about 2 miles north of Hanover, New Hampshire. UVRF offers numerous programs for both novice and advanced rowers.

Membership and Programs

Membership in UVRF goes from January through December. Basic membership is required to sign up for one of the numerous programs. Private coaching lessons are available. Scholarship programs are available.

Safety and policies

Rowing is an outdoor sport and has some intrinsic risks. In addition to having safety equipment in each coaching launch there are competency requirements for anyone who wants to row, as well as a number of other policies which have the objective of keeping all participants safe.
