Equipment Usage Program and Options
UVRF has a large number of singles, doubles, quads and fours that can be used by members who meet the following requirements:
- Be a member of UVRF
- Be a member of USRowing
- Pay for a club boat rental (equipment usage) program
- Be certified to row the rented boat
There are three options in 2024 for the equipment usage program
Option 1 is for the use of all club boats (singles, doubles, quads and fours) and is designed for those who do not rent a rack from UVRF.
Option 2 is for the use of all club boats (singles, doubles, quads and fours) and is designed for those who own their own boat and rent a rack from UVRF.
Option 3 is for the use of all club boats (singles, doubles, quads, and fours) and is for those members who participate in the Adult Sweep programs in the spring, summer and/or fall, only during the duration of each of the programs.
For each program, members will have access to only those boats for which they have been certified.
Option 1: Use of Club Boats as Certified
This option allows you to row club singles, doubles, quads and fours, based on your certification level. For example, if you are certified to row club doubles at the start of the season, you will be allowed to row racing doubles after you become certified for that class of boats, and that use will be included with this option. All boats must be reserved using the google sheet which can be accessed through this password protected page.

- Option 1 (Junior) $300
As of September 1 a discounted equipment usage fee of $250 (Adults) or $150 (Juniors) will be offered for the remainder of the 2024 season, which usually ends in late October when the dock is taken out.
Option 2: Use of Club Boats as Certified for Rack Renters
If you own a boat and rent a rack from UVRF at Kendal or Fuller, Option 2 allows you to use the club singles, doubles, quads and fours, based on your certification level. All boats must be reserved using the google sheet which can be accessed through this password protected page.

Option 3: Use of Club Boats during Adult Sweep participation period
- Spring Sweep (Adult) (2x’s, 4x’s only) $35
- Summer Sweep (Adult) $90
- Fall Sweep (Adult) $85
“Try Before You Buy” – Members who would like to try sculling, or try rowing a double or a quad, before investing in the corresponding equipment usage fees, may row a single, double or quad for which they are certified with another member who has paid the equipment usage fee up to 3 times per season. The sponsoring member is responsible for reserving equipment.
