Rowers will learn the basic rowing stroke on land and will advance to an 8-oared boat, where each rower has one oar. The boat is steered by a coxswain and will be accompanied by a motor launch. During the course, rowers will learn the basic rowing technique, boat handling skills, and water safety. Regular attendance is required and participants must be at Kendal and ready to row at program start time.\u00a0 After completion of this program there will be opportunities to continue rowing which you can discuss with the coach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0The classes will meet on M\/W\/F from 5:45 to 7:15 PM at the Kendal Riverfront Park in Hanover.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0Participants must be members of United States Rowing Association (USRA). A swim test and SafeSport are required. The UVRF membership fee is waived for the Novice Sweep Program.<\/p><p>Please note that scholarships are available for those who might need some assistance in order to sign up for any of our programs. All applications are confidential and thanks to generous donations, we have funds available.
